NAIT is one of the largest institutes of technology in Canada, providing education in business, advanced technologies and skilled trades to more than 80,000 students and is a leader in technical training and applied education designed to meet the demands of industry around the globe.  NAIT’s Continuing Education Department designs and customizes courses servicing clients online and at our main campus.

The Continuing Education Department is currently recruiting for Contractor Facilitators.  These are part-time courses/certificates taught during the weekdays/ weekends/ weeknights.  All courses are instructor-led delivery in the classroom or online. 

Working within the Business and Productivity Portfolio, Contract Facilitators will deliver training programs to Continuing Education students.  Facilitators are being recruited to teach in the following programs: 

  • Operations Management
  • Quality Management
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Competence Management. 

Course and workshop content may include use of software applicable for courses indicated, i.e. Minitab, Kahuna Workforce, et al.

The successful candidates will possess extensive experience and subject matter expertise relating to the program content noted above.  Ideally candidates will have taught courses and workshops previously and have an active learning focus as part of their course delivery capabilities.  Courses are delivered daytime, evenings and weekends, online using MS Teams and will also be offered face to face once restrictions are lifted.

Contract Instruction Deliverables:

  • Provide direct instruction utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment
  • Utilize appropriate education technology for communications and presentations
  • Maintain professional ethical relationships with students and colleagues; respond professionally to student issues and concerns; submit marks/records promptly

 

Qualifications:

  • A related undergraduate degree, diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A NAIT Becoming a Master Instructor (BMI) certificate would be a definite asset.
  • Experienced with the training and facilitation of adult learners in a face to face and online environment using a variety of techniques
  • Experience with curriculum development and design
  • Skilled in MS Office suite
  • Related Designation, where applicable would be a strong asset
  • Extensive experience in the related field

 

NOTE: Candidates selected for an interview will be required to prepare and present a lesson on a provided topic.  

NOTE: Candidates should note which program they have interest in and what their availability is for daytime, evening and / or weekend teaching.
