At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology a position as Research Assistant for research in Virtual Reality applied to realistic architectural visualization is open for appointment from August 1st, 2021 or soon hereafter and for a period of one year. The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.

Job description

The position will involve developing Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications for Dead-Mounted Display. The application domain will primarily be architectural visualization.
The research will focus on exploring how scale perception is affected by visual realism, locomotion strategies, visualization of user body, etc. The work will be done in an interdisciplinary research environment spanning experts in both VR and architecture.
The position will involve teaching activities in the area of computer graphics.

The applicant must have documented experience in developing VR applications (Unity and/or Unreal) and general computer graphics background. Furthermore, training in experimental design and user studies will be a significant advantage.

The required level of qualifications is at master level.

Appointment to Research Assistant may be for a period of up to three years. Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance's current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
