Overview: We are now looking for a University teacher in Transdisciplinary art studies (TAS) at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, to join a multidisciplinary team of education professionals. In this one-year fixed-term position, you will have an impact on the development of a dynamic teaching unit that focuses on the relationship between art and theory in a broad global, social, and cultural context, and on new ways of thinking about the interconnections between art, work, and life.

Transdisciplinary art studies (TAS) is a school-wide unit that offers a wide range of art and theory-based courses in the fields of contemporary art, visual culture, architecture, and design for all students of the school.

Responsibilities: The university teacher will advance the unit’s goal to prepare each student to be successful in their major degree work, to think forward, and to develop the habits of critical reflection. As the university teacher, you will work in close collaboration with other educational specialists and studio masters, and act as a responsible teacher for TAS courses. The specific tasks include scheduling courses; scheduling, hiring and supervising hourly paid teachers; scheduling, hiring and overseeing artist models; addressing questions from teachers and students when they arise; attending TAS meetings; participating in curriculum and program development; and assisting the director and teaching faculty in the general tasks relating to TAS operations.

Requirements: The university teacher position requires strong experience in academic administration; knowledge of diverse art media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and video; and a proven ability to work well with faculty, students, and senior academic staff.
