Applications are invited for a full-time Resident Lecturer post in Molecular Pharmacology in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics within the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery of the University of Malta.

The appointment will be on initial definite four-year contract of employment. Following the successful completion of the one-year probationary period, the Resident Academic will commence a two-year Tenure Track process. At the conclusion of this two-year period of service, the Resident Academic will be subject to a Tenure Review.

The appointee will be required to contribute to the teaching, research, administration and other activities of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and as may be required by the University.

Candidates must be in possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent research based doctorate relevant to the subject matter. Postdoctoral research experience and evidence of international research training in the Department’s molecular pharmacology areas of interest will be considered an important asset. In addition, candidates with relevant teaching, assessment, research proposal and project supervision experience at a University level in these areas, and a first degree containing a significant pharmacology component will be considered an asset.

  • General problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Ability to maintain a professional communications platform with students, staff and external entities;
  • Willingness to work in a complex technical challenging environment, while keeping abreast of new research techniques which are of specific interest to the department;
  • Willingness to undergo additional training, locally or overseas, if required.
