About the role
We have a permanent, senior position in Foundation Pathways for an enthusiastic and innovative Kaiako/Educator. The role begins in July, ready to start teaching in semester 2.
The role involves teaching essential academic skills to foundation students, cultivating positive student relationships and being part of a team that builds student confidence and engagement.

This is a permanent full-time position (working 37.5 hours per week).
Are you an ideal candidate?
To be successful you will ideally have:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree or post-graduate qualification
- An Adult Education qualification
- Knowledge and experience of Te Ao Māori, Matauranga Māori and be an experienced practitioner of whanaungatanga and manaakitanga.
- Teaching experience and passion for Foundation education
- An understanding of effective strategies to support engagement and achievement at Level 4
- Proven capability in innovative curriculum development and academic processes
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated enthusiasm for team collaboration
- An interest in life-long learning, for example, ongoing training / professional development
In the Centre for Education and Foundation Pathways you will be part of an effective teaching team and work with Wintec colleagues from the student experience team and wider support services to provide a positive learning experience for students.
