The position

As a Specialist you will support prospective students by proactively engaging with applicants and our teaching Schools, to optimise selection and enrolment activities and processes to enable Unitec to achieve, enrolments, and retention targets. This role requires a flexible working week to meet student needs and times available.

This position requires active student engagement and a core requirement is to contact applicants telephonically, followed up by other media to ensure high conversion of enrolment and improved student processes and one-on-one student contact as needed.  You will be responsible for closely assessing students documentation to ensure they meet the entry criteria for the programme they have applied for or, work with them to find an alternative programme of study or study plan leading towards their eventual career goals.

Your experience

You will have highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people, including applicants, their whanau, academic staff, senior management, support services and external clients.

You'll come from a customer service background ideally within a tertiary environment and be confident liaising with applicants over the phone.  You will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent attention to detail and be used to working with multiple stakeholders.  As you'll be the main point of contact during our student's application process, communication is key.
