We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Manager to fulfil the role of Te Pou Manawa, providing effective planning and management for events held at Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae whilst also leading the teams responsible for Māori student academic success.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high-quality delivery of events, including but not limited to Orientation pōwhiri, conferences, noho marae and celebrations held at Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae, and the design and development of the academic support services programme for tauira Māori. You will lead a team of up to 7 people from the marae operations and Māori support service teams.
To be successful in this position you'll possess a deep understanding of mātauranga Māori, Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori and will be able to share this with a diverse group of kaimahi. You will also hold a post-graduate qualification or be working towards a post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following;
- People leadership experience
- Knowledge and/or experience in the tertiary education sector
- Ability to engage culturally responsive and appropriate pedagogies
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to deal with a wide range of people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative, planning and reporting capabilities
