We are looking for expressions of interest for two deputy Chief Medical Officers, the roles will be:

  • Professional affairs
  • Clinical networks, strategy and Safeguarding

We are looking for individuals with significant clinical leadership experience and a reputation for compassionate and inclusive leadership.


Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role:

Job descriptions for both posts are attached, both roles offer an opportunity to support the priorities of the CMO, including clinical strategies and promotion of inclusivity and diversity at all levels in UHS.  Both roles will be required to deputise for the CMO.

 


Working for our organisation

  • The professional affairs role will take the lead on behalf of the CMO, acting as the Case Manager on medical employee relations issues.  The post holder will also take on the role as deputy Responsible Officer and will have a focus on medical appraisals. 
  • The clinical networks role will lead key projects, for example, pathway development, urgent care village, secondary and primary care integration.  The post holder will support the CMO to ensure robust systems of clinical governance are in place across the organisation.

Both posts attract 4 PAs.
