Summary of Position

Facilitate the growth of the County 4-H program and life-skill development of 4-H youth through recruitment, training, support and guidance of volunteers in a community-based, youth organization. 4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, works in local communities to offer youth online and in-person programming through clubs, collaborative community partnerships, afterschool programs, camps and or other educational activities. New Hampshire 4-H programs are designed around a ‘pathway’ model centered around National 4-H mission areas of STEM/Agriscience, Civic Engagement and Healthy Living. 4-H Pathways are designed to engage youth in a sequential learning experience, enabling youth to build mastery of skill and knowledge as well as a sense of belonging to their community and world. As part of a County Extension team, this position may also be appointed in the future to serve as the County Office Administrator, which would be a 20% appointment with a stipend (programmatic workload will be reduced to accommodate this appointment).

Other minimum qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline, education or human services. Exceptional candidate with HS Equivalent or Associates will be considered as long as they are willing to pursue and obtain Bachelors upon hire
2. Two years of experience in work related to administering educational programs.
3. Valid NH driver’s license
4. Effective human relations and communication skills
5. Computer skills
6. Ability to reflect thoughtfully on personal bias in order to be welcoming to all potential participants and volunteers

Additional Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience developing and managing volunteers
2. Experience managing youth development programs
3. Experience with 4-H and/or other Cooperative Extension programming
4. Competence with social media
5. Experience working with diverse, vulnerable or underserved populations
