Job Description:

We seek a dynamic, detail-oriented Marketing Specialist to join our small, collaborative and high-performance marketing team that sits within the larger Enrollment Management department. While upholding Brown University messaging and brand standards, our team acts as an internal agency focused building brand awareness, generating quality leads and nurturing inquiries to meet admissions goals across a growing portfolio of programs.


Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and working closely with the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist will be responsible for effectively supporting and executing strategic marketing plans for new and existing master’s and non-degree programs. This role will also collaborate with other members of the Enrollment Management team, program directors, and occasionally with outside advertising representatives.


The Marketing Specialist will manage the logistics and implementation of multi-channel advertising activities and contribute to the development of the marketing plans. This person will be cross-trained to provide support and continuity for marketing activities, with a particular emphasis on digital advertising, data analytics and technical/CRM support. Projects include email marketing, paid search & digital advertising, social media content, website maintenance and development.


The ideal candidate will have a direct experience creating and running paid digital/social media ad campaigns (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, etc.), be data-driven with strong analytical skills, possess a solutions-focused mindset, be able to operate independently to meet stringent deadlines and work well under pressure and troubleshoot in a high-volume, changing work environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Under the direction of senior marketing staff, the Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of outbound messaging and recruitment marketing activities for all SPS programs and activities, including Pre-College, Undergraduate, and Executive and Professional programs - 60%

Supporting Actions:
• Build, maintain and track performance and pacing of digital advertising campaigns on Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, etc.
• Assist with all aspects of ad creation, including coordinating design, traffic flow, production, imagery selection, messaging, identifying A/B tests
• Implement conversion tracking on all campaigns and corresponding web pages
• Organize and tag digital assets, files and photos
• Assist with content and organic social media efforts

Metrics, Data, and Reporting - 30%

Supporting Actions:
• Track and report campaign results and provide accurate metrics; Maintain a comprehensive marketing metric data dashboard
• Present insights of marketing campaign activities, recommend optimizations for program development, track progress towards enrollment management goals and campaign KPIs
• Support ongoing enhancements and ensure timely and effective completion of marketing projects
• Track budget and expenses for marketing activities, including any related invoice/p-card reconciliation

Contribute to SPS Planning and Strategy - 5%

Supporting Actions :
• Contribute to the development of comprehensive and integrated marketing plans
• Consult with colleagues to promote efficiency, streamline operations and build success for all SPS programs
• Help to build effective and efficient marketing tools that support the Brown brand across various programs and initiatives
• Support other marketing and recruitment events, activities, or special projects as needed

Website and CRM support - 5%

Supporting Actions:


• Assist with SPS website maintenance, executing other technical optimizations and enhancements to support SEO efforts
• In coordination with the Marketing Manager, support marketing-related CRM activities and campaigns, such as email drip series, deliver mailings, audience segmentation, data dashboards, queries, etc.
• Monitor the lead/inquiry journey, track performance and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance campaigns

• Provide multi-channel marketing support for 3 professional master’s programs, 12+ residential master’s programs, as well as a growing portfolio of Executive Education offerings
• Maintain professional.brown.edu website that receives over 500,000 pageviews/year
• Communicate and engage with a growing audience of 19,000+ stakeholders on social media
• Manage CRM and communicate with a growing email audience of 20,000+ stakeholders

Qualifications:

Education:

·         Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Job Competencies:

·         Direct experience creating and running ad campaigns in platforms such as Google Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, etc.

·         Knowledge of digital advertising technology and new media best practices. Willingness to learn new systems

·         Data-driven and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills; Solutions-focused mindset and ability to turn data into actionable insights

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent organization, project management and production skills involving the execution of multiple, simultaneous projects

·         Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure and troubleshoot in a high-volume, changing work environment

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

·         Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community

Preferred Job Competencies:

·         Experience working with Slate or other CRM systems

·         Google Data Analytics Certificate

·         Advertising, visual design, or web production experience

·         Experience in education, launching and marketing new products to adult markets

·         Knowledge of Web technology, HTML and web editing (Drupal)

·         Experience with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
