Job Duties:

Conduct assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purposes of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of a CTE adjunct faculty member is to teach and facilitate knowledge and skills as related to current industry standards.

1. Develop consistent procedures in class based on industry workflow practices.

2. Modeling and adopting good file management skills on local and remote servers.

3. Knowledge on how to analyze, troubleshoot and find solutions in a classroom environment.

4. Knowledge of any or all Adobe CC applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Animate and 2D/3D applications.

5. Teach – interact with students to provide opportunities to learn, create conditions that facilitate learning, and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur.

6. Work with department chair to provide quality education by updating curriculum standards at current industry levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Candidate must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
2. Associate’s degree (AAS) or higher in a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
3. Must have, or be eligible for a full-time Colorado Vocational Credential in Information Technology at the post-secondary level issued by the Aims Community College, CTE director.
a. This will require at least two years (4,000 hours) of approved experience in the Graphic Design area.
The preference is 8,000 – 10,000 hours of work experience or a combination of work and teaching experience.
4. Ability to design and present curriculum in a Distance Learning format. Currently the college utilizes Desire to Learn Course Management software. Adjunct faculty are required to receive training in the Aims Online environment.
5. A commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy, including a sincere belief that each individual should be allowed an opportunity to succeed regardless of past experience.
6. Ability and willingness to work as team member as exhibited by a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Prior work experience using Adobe CC software applications and continuous learning of the technology.

2. Exhibits the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.

3. Shall have good verbal and written communication skills.

4. Shall be self-directed and self-motivated.

5. Graphic Design and Rich Media background with experience in one or more of the following topic areas: Motion Design, Web Design, Game Design, or Animation.

6. 4,000 hours in the field and/or a Bachelor's degree required for CTE credential:

7. Previous teaching experience in Motion Design, Web Design or Animation is a plus, but not required.

  • Full-Time compensation is based on qualifications, experience and internal equity in addition to a generous benefits package. Listed is the minimum starting annual salar y which, for a non-exempt position, would be paid on an hourly basis.

  • Part-Time Hourly compensation has a set rate of pay.

  • Part-Time Faculty (Faculty Load and Compensation) in accordance with Aims Community College pay schedule.



The hiring range for full-time positions is up to 5% above the minimum salary stated in the job posting.



Minimum payment amount:

C – Lecture – $1,148.00 per credit

D – Recitation: Discussion/Seminar – $1,148.00 per credit

E – Laboratory/Career and Technical – $1,252.00 per credit

F1 – Laboratory: Academic – $1,382.00 per credit

F2 – Laboratory: Academic – $1,565.00 per credit

G – Physical Education/Recreation Courses – $1,382.00 per credit

H – Studio: Art – $1,382.00 per credit

J – Studio: Music – $1,469.00 per credit

L2 – Clinical or Internship Instructor On-Site – $1,382.00 per credit

L3 – Clinical or Internship Rad Tech – $2,694.00 per credit

L4 – Clinical or Internship Nursing - $2,815.00 - $3,127.00 per credit based on employee’s highest applicable degree

M2 – Clinical or Internship Instructor On-Site - $1,382.00 per credit

M3 – Clinical or Internship Nursing and/or Nurse Aide (Health/Nurse Aide) - $1,877.00 - $2,085.00 per credit, based on employee’s highest applicable degree

In certain instances, due to low enrollment, instructors payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.

Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
