This individual will be a critical part of a research team for an NIH-sponsored grant studying new methods for the assessment and characterization of sensory hearing loss. A graduate degree or graduate work in audiology, hearing science, biomedical engineering, neuroscience or related fields is required. This individual will take the lead on data collection (measurement of otoacoustic emissions) with normal-hearing and hearing-impaired adult subjects, advanced probe systems and hardware as well as custom-designed software programs for the recording and analysis of otoacoustic emissions. He/she will also supervise junior testers and coordinate all data analysis/management. This individual will be a vital part of a research team headed by Principal Investigators, Dr. Carolina Abdala and Dr. Christopher Shera, which will meet regularly to review and discuss data, analysis, results and their implications. The person in this position will have ample opportunity to contribute creatively to the research process, take a leadership role in completing the aims of this grant, and depending on interests, can also become involved in the presentation of research at professional conferences. This is an exciting and stimulating opportunity for a research-minded audiologist or other professional interested in hearing and hearing loss, auditory neuroscience, cochlear mechanics, otoacoustic emissions, and advanced diagnostics. A communicative person with good people skills and leadership potential is preferred as this person will also be coordinating subject recruitment from USC clinics, Institutes, and Centers. Some study coordination or clinical trials experience is helpful though not required. Training will be provided for all data collection and analysis techniques.

Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and experience in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
