Senior Software Analyst - Office of Information Technology

Market Range:   MR14


The University of Tennessee, Office of Information Technology Applications Group is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Software Analyst - Office of Information Technology. Market range MR14.

The Senior Software Analyst leads the technical design, modification, development, testing, and documentation related to the University operations in the use of Ellucian Banner (ERP) for higher education. The position will report to the OIT Manager, Student Information Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, upgrade, and support the University’s enterprise resource planning (Banner) application and other interfaces to Banner for the campus community
  • Provide training and assistance to users in the use of enterprise applications and custom developed solutions
  • Leads the analysis and problem solving for the mission critical systems and implements solutions by planning, managing resources, communicating progress, and delivering final products.
  • Ability to lead and manage large projects impacting large groups of end users independently and in collaboration with campus internal and external vendors and cross functional teams
  • Defines scope of objectives for projects based on user needs.
  • Designs, analyze, develop, implement and maintain enhancements to the University’s enterprise computer applications
  • Focuses on short and long-term strategic planning and contributes to the identification of areas for development
  • Develop and maintain documentation
 



Qualifications

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years applicable experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Seven (7) years verifiable programming skills using PL/SQL
  • 5 years of relevant experience with enterprise software solutions
  • 5 years of IT application design and development experience
  • 5 years of experience leading IT projects
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable
  • Excellent communication and organization skills

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience working in Higher Education ERP(Banner)
  • Experience with SDLC processes
  • Must be well spoken, creative, and energetic
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal technical supervision

 

Education/Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 

Licenses/Certifications

Project Management certification preferred.
