Sr Research Associate

The Senior Research Associate position is available at the USC Brain Tumor Center (BTC). Key research areas will be focus on primary and metastatic brain tumors. This series is designed for career research professionals whose primary function is to support the research infrastructure and activities of the institution. The scientist will bring special skills, knowledge, and experience to research programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The scientist will work with the USC BTC’s Scientific Director to implement the Brain Tumor Resource Core (BTRC).
  • Harvest and characterize (through Proteomic analysis and Single Cell RNA Sequencing) patient-to derived lines for research use.
  • Will derive PDX brain tumors in mice that are grown in matched and appropriate brain microenvironment.
  • Using clinically relevant animal models of disease, the scientist will utilize state of the art molecular biology, in vitro systems, and
  • Collaborate with experts on- and off- campus in multi-disciplinary studies
  • Organize and synthesize data for manuscripts and grant applications
  • Patient Data Management

Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate Minimum Experience: 3 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and experience in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures, analysis methods, principles, theories and concepts.
