Assist with large animal labs for VETT 2364 Large Animal Nursing (spring) and VETT 1193 Principles of Large Animal Care (Fall).

Minimum Qualifications:

DVM with a minimum of 5 years of small animal practice experience; current Oklahoma license and in good standing with the OSVBME; valid and current DEA/OBN license. Prefer membership to OVMA and/or TCVMA, but not required.

Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.

Preferred Qualifications:

Performance of anesthesia, surgery and diagnostic testing while supervising student technicians.

Provide dental care including extractions and radiology; endoscope and ultrasound demonstrations; other skills of special interest to the DVM.

Ability to explain tasks and skills for entry-level, veterinary technicians-in-training; capable of multi-tasking to include monitoring patient safety, student safety and instructional objectives; documentation of procedures (digitally) and medical record completion; evaluate and record student performance; supervise controlled substance log entries; supervise nursing care plans.

Starting Salary Range: $50.00/hr
